Confidence isn’t the starting point — it’s the result of doing

Launch Confidence & Identity Shift Part 1 of 4

Hey there fellow side hustler!

💭 “I just need to feel more confident before I do this…”

If you’ve been putting in the effort but something still feels like it’s holding you back, you may be thinking:

“Once I feel more confident, I’ll start sharing…”
“I just need to be a little more sure of myself first…”
“I don’t want to put this out there until I feel ready…”

So you wait.

You tweak things.
You think things through.
You prepare a little more.

And it feels like progress…

But nothing actually gets out into the world.

🧠 The Lie That Keeps You Stuck

It sounds reasonable:

“Confidence comes first… then action.”

But in reality, it works the opposite way.

👉 Action comes first
👉 Confidence comes after

Not before. Not during.

After.

📌 Why This Feels Backwards

Because confidence feels like something you should have before you start.

You want:

  • Certainty

  • Assurance

  • A sense that “this will work”

But those things don’t come from thinking longer.

They come from:
👉 Doing something real
👉 Seeing what happens
👉 Realizing you can handle it

🛠️ What Actually Builds Confidence

Confidence isn’t built in your head.

It’s built through evidence.

Small moments like:

  • You shared your first post

  • You talked about your offer out loud

  • Someone responded

  • Or… nothing happened, and you were still okay

Each of those becomes proof:

“I can do this.”

And that proof compounds.

🧠 Reframe This Completely

Instead of asking:

“How do I become more confident?”

Ask:

“What action would create a small piece of confidence?”

That shifts you from:

  • Waiting → Doing

  • Thinking → Testing

  • Doubting → Experiencing

🧩 The Identity Shift That Changes Everything

You’re not trying to feel like someone who launches.

You’re becoming:

Someone who takes action even when it feels uncertain

That identity is built through repetition:

  • You act → even when unsure

  • You share → even when it feels awkward

  • You follow through → even when it’s not perfect

That’s how the shift happens.

🛠️ A Simple “Confidence Loop”

Here’s how it actually works:

  1. Take a small action

  2. Get a result (any result)

  3. Realize you survived it

  4. Feel a little more capable

  5. Take the next action

👉 Repeat

That’s confidence.

Not a feeling you wait for…
A pattern you build.

🧠 Why Waiting Doesn’t Work

If you wait to feel confident:

  • You delay action

  • You don’t get real feedback

  • You don’t build evidence

Which means:
👉 Confidence never has a chance to form

So you stay stuck in:

“Almost ready”

🛠️ Quick Exercise (Do This Today)

Ask yourself:

“What is one action I’ve been avoiding because I don’t feel confident yet?”

Then shrink it.

Make it:

  • Smaller

  • Simpler

  • Less intimidating

Examples:

  • Instead of “launch publicly” → tell one person

  • Instead of “write a full post” → write one sentence

  • Instead of “sell” → explain what you’re doing

Then do it.

👉 That’s your confidence builder

🧠 What You’ll Notice

After you take that action:

  • It won’t feel as big anymore

  • You’ll feel slightly more capable

  • The next step won’t feel as heavy

That’s how confidence grows.

Quietly. Gradually. Through doing.

Your Next Step

Don’t wait to feel ready today.

👉 Take one small action instead.

Something real. Something visible. Something done.

Because every time you act…

You’re not just making progress.

You’re becoming:

someone who actually ships and shares

💡 In A Nutshell

Confidence isn’t something you need before you start — it’s something you build by taking action. Every small step creates proof that you can do this, and that proof turns into real confidence over time. You don’t become confident and then act — you act, and confidence follows.
